A New Chapter in Mutiara Damansara
In a significant move that marks the dawn of a new era in Mutiara Damansara, Boustead Properties Bhd has announced the redevelopment of the well-known eCurve mall into a high-rise residential development named The Lines. This transformation is part of a comprehensive vision to revitalise the Mutiara Damansara township, aligning with global trends in urban regeneration projects.
The Transformation of eCurve
eCurve, a popular mall that began operations in 2006, was closed in March 2021 to make way for this redevelopment. The decision to redevelop eCurve was driven by the aspiration to create a more vibrant and sustainable environment for the community. The redevelopment project is set to commence with the demolition of eCurve at the end of the second quarter in 2024.
Introducing The Lines
The Lines, a serviced apartment project, is poised to launch in Q3 2024, igniting the first phase of a comprehensive revitalization plan for Mutiara Damansara’s commercial district. This development signifies a significant step forward in the area’s transformation.
The Lines will encompass a total of 999 serviced apartment units distributed across four distinct towers. Three towers will cater to the open market, offering a variety of options for residents. The fourth tower will be dedicated to the Servis Apartment Mampu Milik (SAMM) affordable housing initiative, providing much-needed housing solutions.
Within the open market towers, residents will have the opportunity to choose from a diverse selection of units ranging from 590 square feet to a spacious 2,880 square feet. This caters to a broad range of lifestyles and needs.
The SAMM tower will offer 250 affordable units, each measuring approximately 550 square feet and priced at RM250,000. This program promotes accessibility and fosters a more inclusive community.
Standing tall at an impressive 67 storeys, one of the towers within The Lines will be among the nation’s highest condominiums, redefining the Mutiara Damansara skyline.
The Lines embraces the concept of multigenerational living, catering to families with two or even three generations residing under one roof. The design incorporates thoughtful considerations to ensure privacy for individual couples, potentially including separate entrances for added convenience.
The Future of Mutiara Damansara
The overall revitalisation plan of Mutiara Damansara is expected to take about 10 to 15 years to complete, with an estimated Gross Development Value (GDV) of RM8.9 billion. The Lines serves as a catalyst for this vision of a greater and greener Mutiara Damansara, aiming to achieve carbon neutrality and create a vibrant, biophilic-themed environment along with the rejuvenation of Mutiara Parks for the community and environment.
This redevelopment exercise is expected to unlock the value of Mutiara Damansara’s commercial precinct and elevate the image of The Curve shopping mall, thus improving its tenant mix and rental rate.
